Web Technik - testimonials
We're not keen on published testimonials - we could just make some up, how could you tell? On the other hand we get some we are really proud of so here are some (only the names are changed). We are especially grateful to those who have given us testimonials under their own names on letterhead stationery.
We also invite you to contact any of our clients and ask their opinion.

Dear Web Technik,
As we are all aware, when it was felt we needed a new web page design, A... awarded it to another company. Neither R... nor I were involved in that part of the process.
We have been involved with it since then and to say we are not happy with the choice A... made would be an understatement. In all fairness to A... he has admitted he is not impressed either.
We are looking at the contract we have and believe it runs out in October although we maybe able to cancel it before then. We are not looking for another design as we do not dislike the new one. What we are not happy with is the service we are being given.
Would you be prepared to take over with the general maintenance of the site as and when we finish (I don't even know what they are called) with the other company?
We have always worked well together and I am sure you could work with A.. and R... and if needs be me if only from afar.
Kind regards
A growing "business to business" service provider
I thought it safest to use a subsidiary of BT (British Telecom) to provide me with a website. I could not have been more wrong.
The two page site they created for £500 was essentially the same as they use for other similar businesses with a few changes to the wording so there was nothing distinctive about my site. I now understand this is what designers call "a template site", the cheapest to build and for £500 I should expect better than that. It included a link to their business directory to "similar businesses in the area" - so on my web site they were providing a link to my competitors!
They phoned me at least once a month giving the hard-sell for more of their expensive services. The site generated barely any additional business. They were reporting hundreds of "hits" a month - but I now understand that the figure they should be telling me is "unique visitors" as each visitor can generate dozens of "hits". Their sales team's response to my disappointment was that I needed to buy more pages from them.
When I needed an address change - what I imagine represents a few lines of typing, that came at a price. I had thought the £35 a month "maintenance" fee would include such trivial changes.
I spoke to Web Technik - they took over the web site, its hosting and maintenance for less than half BTs annual charge and that does include an allowance for occasional updates. Rob helped me re-write the wording to explain why my service is better than my competitors' and included some of my photos (BT wanted to charge a lot more to do that, they only used some standard "stock" images).
A sole trader - working hard to earn a living, I've got to get best value for every penny I spend.
After receiving an aggressive "hard-sell" approach from a Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) company I contacted Web Technik for an opinion. As our long-term web design, hosting and support providers they have always provided sound advice.
Rob explained that with the passing of time understanding of how Google works improves as do the web site technologies that affect how a site is listed. Older sites can often be improved to get better listings on Google. He also touched on some of the ways SEOs mislead clients.
Rob's advice was to review the text and the way it was presented then implement a few updates. This all costed a fraction of the SEO's quote of thousands of pounds. Within a few weeks our site had moved from page 30 of the Google results to page one for a popular relevant search phrase.

[Note from Web Technik: Our aim is to follow Google "best practise" guidelines when creating or revising a web site. We are open and honest about the changes we make and the reasons for them. We do not use techniques intended to trick Google or subvert its operation. Results are usually satisfactory but we cannot, with integrity, guarantee any specific improvement to listing.]
The ecommerce site created by Web Technik to supplement our retail shop has been such a success that we have had to reorganise, extend our premises and employ additional staff to handle the volume of on-line business. Your continuing expert support at every stage of the process has been more than we could ever have imagined.
"Thanks" just isn't an adequate expression of how grateful we are and that is reflected in our greatly increased turnover and profit. We have no hestitation in recommending Web Technik to business colleagues and look forward to a continuing and long future working together.
